What do I get when I purchase an AdvancedCLP
practice test?
After purchasing
a product, you will be provided with a URL to a web page which
allows you to download the practise test engine (a Notes database)
via HTTP download. You will also receive a receipt via email,
and a license file via email which must be installed in the same
directory as the Notes Database.
Do
I need a Lotus Notes client to use AdvancedCLP
software?
Yes. The practice tests are
built as Lotus Notes databases, so you need a Lotus Notes client to
run them.
What version of Lotus Notes client does AdvancedCLP
software run on?
Our Practice Tests are certified for use with Lotus Notes R6.x and
above. Note however that the links in each test references the
Notes Help databases which matches the practice test. e.g.
Exam 702 references the ND7 Help topics. Exam 802
references the ND8 Help Topics. So it is best to use the client
version which corresponds to the exam you are sitting.
Can I use an AdvancedCLP Practice Test on more than
one computer?
Yes. Since our practice tests are
Lotus Notes databases, they can be used on multiple computers.
The practice tests are secured to a single nominated Lotus Notes
user ID; as long as the user ID is available on each computer you
can use the Practice Test on those computers.
Do I need a Domino server to use AdvancedCLP
Practice Tests?
No. Our practice tests are
designed to run using only a Notes client.
Can I put an AdvancedCLP Practice Test on a Domino
server?
Yes. However note that our practice
tests are secured to one individual who is nominated at purchase
time. There is little point in placing it on a server because
only that individual may use the product according to our license
agreement.
Can I use AdvancedCLP Practice Tests with a
Notes R4.6x
Client and Notes 5.x Client?
No.
We originally created an R4.6x and R5.x ODS version of the Practice Tests but
we have withdrawn them due to lack of
demand.
What operating system does the AdvancedCLP software
run on?
Any operating system that can run a Lotus
Notes client.
Is there a minimum specification which my computer
must meet to run the software?
Any computer than can
run a Lotus Notes client can run the software.
Licensing and Registration
Can I purchase the software and give it to a friend
when I'm finished with it?
No. The software is secured
so that only one person can use it. When you purchase the software
you purchase a non-transferrable license which can only be used by
yourself, however you may use it on different
computers.
Future
Products
Is AdvancedCLP planning to create practice test
software for other Lotus exams?
Yes. We intend to
create a number of additional products. Please email info@advancedclp.com to let us know which exam you'd like to
see.
Does AdvancedCLP have plans to make a version of the
software that is a stand-alone application which does not
require the Lotus Notes client?
Not at this stage. We
figure that all people wishing to sit the exams would require access
to the Lotus Notes client for study purposes, so there is no need to
provide a stand-alone Practice Test application. Besides, a Lotus
Notes database is platform independent and doesn't involve
installing a bunch of unwanted files on your
system.
Exam Questions
Am I guaranteed to pass the exam if I can answer all
of the questions in the testing software?
No. It is important to
understand that practice testing software is one of many study aids
required to pass the exam. By far the most important aspect is
practical experience with the product.
Are the questions in the testing software the same as
those on the exam?
No.
However the questions will cover the same topics that you will find
on the exam and you should find that many of the questions are
similar. We work with IBM to ensure close alignment with
their exam content.

How do I get help if my software doesn't work properly
on delivery?
You can receive free
email support by visiting our support page. We will
work with you to resolve the problem.
I ordered a product from AdvancedCLP and
when I try to use it, I get a message saying that I'm not
authorized. Why does this
happen?
This can happen if the Lotus
Notes user name you provided during the purchasing process does not
match the Lotus Notes user ID that you are using to access the
product. Please visit our support page for information
on free email support and we will work with you to resolve the
problem.
Why don't my doclinks
work?
You are using the wrong client version for the exam you are intending
to sit. e.g. If you are sitting a Notes 7 exam, use the
Notes 7.x client.
Orders
How can I pay?
The main way of
purchasing is by using a credit card with our secure on-line order
form. We accept Visa, MasterCard, Australian BankCard, Diners
Club, and American Express. Alternatively you can download an
order form and mail or fax it to us. For more information

I ordered a product and have not received the
license file yet. What can I
do?
The license file is sent
immediately after your order is processed. If you have not
received the license file, chances are it was trapped by a spam
server, or was somehow lost during transit. Some common
reasons that license files don't arrive are; a) people accidentally
leave invalid email addresses due to typing mistakes b) sometimes we
cannot send email to mail systems for reasons unknown c) sometimes
we receive your email but replies bounce for reasons unknown.
In all of these cases, please ensure that you try sending us an
email from one (or more) different email addresses and please
include a phone number that we can contact you on, and also
preferably leave an alternate email address. You can also try
sending us a fax and leave a return fax number
if you suspect your email is not getting through. We answer
all email so if you have not received a reply, chances are we never
received your email.
